BEFORE AND AFTER

INFO

What Is Nano Brows vs Microblading?

Both Nano brows and Microblading are a form of cosmetic eyebrow tattooing. The principle in which they are done is characterized as hair stroke brows – a way to enhance the
brows and give them volume by drawing on brow hair-like strokes.
In both cases, the hair strokes are created by implementing permanent makeup pigments into the skin. The main difference between these two treatments is that microblading uses a manual tool, and Nano Brows are done with a PMU machine. Sometimes, people get confused with the terms Nano Brows and Nanoblading. Nanoblading isn’t done with a PMU machine. It’s also done with a manual tool consisting of Nano needles, so it’s almost the same as Microblading.
The main difference between Nano brows and Microblading boils down to technique, which then entails certain differences in the final results. Let’s take a deeper look at Nano brows vs Microbladin

Technique

Nano brows are done with a PMU machine – some artists call this treatment digital hair stroke brows or machine brows. The PMU machine features an extremely fine needle, which vibrates and pierces the skin, depositing pigments in tiny dots that add up to strokes. The needle is very thin and enters the skin at a 90 degree angle, so it causes very little trauma to the skin.
Microblading is a manual technique.
A hand-held tool that features a thin blade made up of 12-16 needles is dragged through the skin. The blade is dipped in pigment, and it’s deposited into the tiny cuts. The
Microblading blade can be as thin as 0.18 mm or less. However, there’s less control over pressure and motio.

Skin Trauma and Scabbing

There is less scabbing with Nano brows than Microblading, and the possibility of scarring is lower since the machine offers maximum speed and precision.
A skilled Microblading artist knows how to avoid excessive trauma too, but since the blade is dragged through the skin, there’s usually more scabbing

Nano Brow vs Microblading
Pain Level

The answer is – neither treatment should hurt. A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure to eliminate the pain, and more can be added during the pigmentation process. That said, there is some discomfort. With Microblading, you will probably feel pressure and a pinching sensation, while machine Nano brows feel more like tingling or stinging, along with the vibrations.

After either treatment, you might feel some tenderness in the area. This is normal and it’ll pass within a day. Pain level is individual, so some clients feel nothing at all, while others claim it’s quite uncomfortable. In either case, the sessions are relatively short and they give you years of perfect brows!

Nano Brows vs Microblading Longevity

Both treatments are a form of permanent makeup, meaning their results last a long time, but do fade out eventually. How fast they’ll fade is individual and depends on many factors,
primarily skin type, body chemistry, and lifestyle.

How Long Does Microblading Last?
Generally, the results last over a year to 14 months and can be prolonged with touch ups and proper aftercare, which implies avoiding sunlight, exfoliation, and skincare products which contain particularly aggressive ingredients like retinol and acids. Microblading also fades significantly faster on oily skin.

How Long Do Nano Brows Last?
Nano Brows last between 15 months to 2 years on average, so a bit longer than Microblading. The reason for this is that machine application makes the strokes more resilient.

Oily skin will probably fade Nano brows a bit faster than dry to normal skin, but not as quickly as with microblading. Nano brows are also more suitable for skin with large pores, as the precision of the application prevents pigment blurring.

CONSULTATION

The first part of the process is consultation. I will talk with you in great detail about the treatment, the look you are trying to achieve and what I might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. Once I have an idea of the look you are aiming for and if you are happy to proceed I will carry out a patch test. If you decide to proceed with the treatment a non-refundable deposit of £75 will be required within 24 hours to secure your appointment. The deposit will be credited toward the procedure fee. The outstanding balance can then be paid in full on the day of your 1st treatment or split with one of our payment plans.

PREPARATION

When you arrive we will review the information discussed during the consultation and ascertain if there are any changes which may affect your suitability for treatment.  Next will be to measure and mark out your brows with a makeup pencil. These can be drawn on and adjusted as many times as necessary! I will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with the size, shape and position of your eyebrow design.  Using a specialist hand-tool, which holds disposable micro blades or needles, tiny precision hair strokes are created by hand, mimicking the natural direction and lengths of your brows. Pigments are then implanted into the channels created by the micro blades or needles in the dermal layer of the skin. The sensation is similar to a little scratch but you should not feel any discomfort. The treated area will look 40-50% darker than the colour chosen during the consultation but this will fade within 3-4 days.  The treatment generally takes around 2 and a half hours and will leave you with highly defined, ultra-realistic looking brows.

Refresh Colour Boost

A second appointment is needed 4 – 5 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 2-hour appointment to add more pigment to the brow area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few areas that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, I would advise you always come back for your retouch.

AFTER CARE

Aftercare Summary: From the1st to the 3rd day – several times a day, cleaning with damp cotton buds and gently blotting dry. From the 4th to the 10th day – 3 times a day cleaning with damp cotton buds, and gently blotting dry. Morning and evening, thinnest layer of ointment cream.

Remember: like any other invasive cosmetic procedure this is a process. Do not expect immediate results, and please be patient. It will be a few weeks before you can fully appreciate the results, and you will love it.

Micropigmentation is an invasive procedure. With a needle and specially designed device, we import the pigment in the superficial layer of the dermis of the skin. That means that during this procedure the skin suffers a certain degree of reversible damage and stress.  The superficial healing of the skin( the epidermis) is finished in about 7 days after the procedure. The in-depth, complete healing of the skin is finished after 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure. And only then you can see the final results.

Immediately after the procedure, the skin of the eyebrows and the surrounding skin will be slightly swollen and red. The eyebrows will appear to be too dark, too thick and too defined with a rather unnatural “drawn in” appearance.

The colour will be significantly lighter (10-50%) and the overall appearance much softer and more natural after the healing occurs. The exfoliation – peeling off the outer layer of the skin (the epidermis) occurs on the 4th day after the procedure, and it will be complete around the 7th day. At that point, the contrast between the initial intense and dark colour and the new softer and lighter colour may be such that you may be very disappointed. DO NOT WORRY: the skin is in its healing process and the new epidermis is blurred.

You will see the final results only after the healing is complete (after 4 to 6 weeks). The first 2 days after the procedure are very important. These 2 days the client should clean the eyebrows as often as possible (at least 3 times a day) with damp cotton buds. This way the excess plasma is removed and the forming of a large thick scab is prevented.

Ideally, only a delicate film should form on the surface of the eyebrows. This film will be exfoliated starting from the 4th day. On the 4th day after the procedure, the client should start to moisturize the eyebrows. Only 2 times a day, morning and evening by applying a very thin Ointment layer (too thick layer may cause the pigment to be ejected from the skin).

Moisturize the eyebrows for the next 10 days. Before applying a new layer always clean the eyebrows with dump cotton buds, blot gently to dry and only then apply the product. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB the eyebrows as the colour may heal unevenly and you could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to flake away by itself.

The first 10 days you must avoid using any kind of makeup or skin care products directly on your brows. The first 7 days avoid exercising, long hot showers and sauna. The first 14 days avoid exposure to direct sun, tanning treatments, Jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools and direct shower spray. Do not receive bleaching, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to your enhancement.

Keep in mind that in some cases, some unevenness of the colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the control visit allowing us to fine-tune your enhancement. This is included in the initial cost, however, if you do not attend your scheduled control appointment you will be charged for any further treatment. Cancellation notice is always 48 hours. You must wait at least 4 weeks between applications. The best 5 or 6 weeks.

Touching up a tattoo prematurely may result in a ruined tattoo. The longevity of the enhancement depends strictly on the client. You will always have to use a good sunscreen spf50. Direct sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics. If you are planning a chemical peel, Botox or laser treatment, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.
